World Mental Health Day 2024
Mental health

Any form of migration can put individuals, families and the communities involved under stress.

At IOM, we advocate for a collective effort to support the mental health of migrants, displaced individuals, and diaspora communities, ensuring they receive the necessary care and resources to thrive.

Gender equality

Gender influences reasons for migrating, who migrates and to where, how people migrate and the networks they use, opportunities and resources available at destinations, and relations with the country of origin.

IOM advocates for equal rights, and end to discriminatory migration practices and a better understanding of how gender and migration intersect.

Counter-Trafficking

Trafficking in Persons is a crime and human rights violation that affects men, women, and children all around the world in peace and during conflicts and disasters. Certain factors, such as irregular migration routes, can make migrants vulnerable.

At IOM, we advocate for prevention, prosecution, and protection as a part of a comprehensive approach to counter-trafficking.
